WHAT DOES THE CORE TRUST OFFER?
CORE provides both short and long term programmes, tailored to individual client's needs, in a safe and structured environment. Intensive treatment from qualified therapists, combined with a whole range of complementary therapies, help clients understand and deal with their problems.
Treatments include individual and group psychotherapy, crisis management, reflexology, shiatsu, acupuncture, meditation, yoga and nutrition.
Practical support includes debt management and day-to-day money management, healthy shopping and cooking, access to employment opportunities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
After an initial assessment, where an individual treatment Careplan (focussing on each client's particular needs) will be drawn up clients start a five days a week programme.
Each day begins with ear acupuncture to help reduce anxiety, cravings and agitation. Group counselling and therapies help
provide a supportive and open environment and after two weeks the
timetable expands to include individual psychotherapy and
treatments.
Regular Careplan reviews throughout a client's programme ensure each client is
receiving exactly the help she or he needs.
The programme is designed
to offer practical support and assistance so that each client can
gradually get back into everyday life. Programme elements include Relapse prevention, stress & anxiety management, improved nutrition & dietary health, confidence building & assertiveness, somatic health & fitness and financial management
The programme is designed to work with clients to
help them sort out financial worries, how to get training, education and
work.
AFTER CARE SERVICE
Crucially, the help, advice and support offered by the Core Trust doesn't stop at the end of a client's programme. There are weekly support groups and individual acupuncture and psychotherapy, crisis management and other support activities are always available.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We have a community liaison post and a designated black and minority ethnic worker. Both of these posts work to increase community engagement and awareness especially with traditionally hard to reach groups and sustain good links with local communities, organisations and professionals.
CORE KIDS
Adults aren't the only ones affected by drug and alcohol
addiction. Children can suffer a whole range of problems ranging from
domestic violence to panic attacks. Helping children adjust and parents
develop a better relationship with them is a vital part of the
CORE Trust philosophy.
Children ranging from four to
16 years old come to the centre once a week, where counselling, art and
play help nurture better physical and emotional health.
